Born on 11. December 1910 in Bielitz (now Bielsko-Biala in Poland), the son of a pastor, died on 18. February 1985 in Bad Aussee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the University of Vienna he studied law for a semester and then Protestant theology. In 1931 he was drafted into the Corps Hansea Vienna. He distinguished himself as a subsenior and senior and moved to the University of Leipzig. In 1935 he passed the theology exam in Vienna. After two years as a clerical assistant in Leoben, he was confirmed as senior vicar in 1937 and received his Doctorate in Theology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After receiving his doctorate, he was pastor of Bad Aussee in the Styrian Salzkammergut from June 1938. From 1942 he served in the army (Wehrmacht). He was an American prisoner of war until 1946.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From 1949 he was a senior and a member of the Synod of the Evangelical Church A.B. in Austria and the General Synod of the Evangelical Church A. and H. B. in Austria. After being chairman of the Gustav Adolf branch association in Styria from 1953 to 1961, he was appointed managing director of the Gustav Adolf Association in Austria in 1962 (until 1973). From 1951 to 1964 he was chairman of the Austrian Pastors’ Association. Most recently he was superintendent of the Evangelical Superintendent A. B.
